Fish oil (as the name suggests!) is oil extracted from oily fish, such as mackerel, tuna, anchovy or salmon. While white fish, such as cod, only contain oil in the liver, oily fish produce an overall higher rate of essential nutrients. Oil in our softgels is of the highest purity and it is derived from wild Peruvian anchovies, which are sustainably fished. Our manufacturing partner is registered with Friends of the Sea, which promotes sustainable seafood and oversees certification of products originating from approved fisheries.
Fish oil capsules are especially useful for those customers searching for a supplement rich in Omega-3. It provides plenty of the fatty acids EPA and DHA (eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid), which helps to maintain a healthy heart. EPA and DHA are essential fatty acids (EFA’s) that humans are unable to synthesise, so they must be ingested either via food or supplementation.
Our standard range of Omega 3 Fish Oil is 18/12, which means that each capsule contains 180mg EPA and 120mg DHA. However, we also offer Super Strength Omega 3 capsules with a higher concentration of up to 500mg EPA and 250mg DHA. Our Fish Oil capsules come in either TG (triglyceride) or EE (ethyl ester) form, which indicates an extraction method used to purify fish oil.
A daily intake of 250mg EPA and DHA from one of our fish oil capsules is recommended to feel the benefits of this supplement.
